Church Concerns Ministry
The mission of this ministry is to fulfill the operational needs of the Parish. This is an administrative ministry responsible for the continual upkeep of the Church and its grounds. In addition, this ministry is responsible for scheduling, liturgies and all other administrative duties that involve the operation of the Church.
Altar Servers
After receiving the sacrament of First Holy Communion, boys and girls are welcome to assist as servers at the altar. Instruction is given by Church Deacons.
Eucharistic Ministers
Mature Catholics of demonstrated Christian service are invited to this ministry. Those who assist in the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass and to the sick make a special effort to foster their personal relationship with our Eucharistic Lord.
Lectors
Lectors are ministers of the Word. This ministry encompasses not only a commitment to proclaim God's Word, but a commitment to try to live the message of Sacred Scripture.
Liturgy
The Parish Liturgy Committee promotes vital worship in the Parish. It prepares and fosters celebration and formation which is directed toward the various faith needs of the entire Parish community.
Ushers
Any adults or young adults are welcome to server as ushers during Masses. Responsibility for seating and collection are necessary. They insure that the ill and the impaired are specially provided for.
The Choirs
The goal of the music groups are to lead parishioners in sung prayer, thereby enhancing their celebration of the liturgy. We are always looking for new voices for our choirs and the Church offers a number of options below. The desire to sing with a group is the most important prerequisite for membership.
The Saint George Choir
This choir is a
traditional adult church choir. They assist in the 10:15 Mass in addition to special
services such as the Christmas Midnight Mass.
Typically the music presented is multi-part (SATB) harmony.
The Third Collection
If you attend the
Saturday Mass, you will experience the music of the Third Collection. Theirs is a more
contemporary style. They welcome all kinds of instruments, such as guitars, and other folk instruments.
The Young People's Choir
This choir is
formed of young voices between 7 and 16.
The Funeral Choir
The purpose and
musical presentation of the funeral choir is related to the task. It generally consists of
from 5 to 20 voices dependent upon the time of the funeral and the availability of persons to participate.
The Sign of the Crossing
During the Church's involvement with RENEW in 1988, a newsletter was formed to keep the Parish informed of the process. It was called the RENEWSLETTER. Seeing the need for a continuance of 'spreading the news of the Parish' Jack and Mary Anne Boylan answered the call with The Sign of the Crossing.
Jack and Mary Anne have now retired to Florida, and the Sign has been "passed on" to Debbie Fiedler.
If you have any news you wish to share with our Parish family, just drop a note in the collection basket.
The Garden Club
We as a Parish are fortunate in having our Church bordered on all sides with the very beautiful Washington Crossing State Park. In addition to the fine work of the professional landscapers, the Church Garden Club adds the 'finishing touches' to the surrounding facilities of the Church grounds. Meetings are held to plan and sustain the grounds. Educational trips are also planned to enhance their knowledge of different plants and arrangements.
The Parish Council
The Parish Council possesses a consultative role only and is governed by the norms provided in its own constitution. This constitution was prepared according to a model drawn up by the Diocesan Bishop. The Parish Council ceases at the death or transfer of the Pastor.
The Parish Finance Council
Each Parish shall have a Finance Council composed of qualified members of the Parish to assist the Pastor in his responsibility to administer the Parish's temporal goods. This council will be governed by the norms provided by the Diocesan Bishop.
