The Saint George's Pro-Life/Respect Life Ministry

The goals of the Saint George's Pro-Life / Respect Life Ministry are best expressed by the Diocese of Trenton in its definition of the role of the Parish representative.  Those goals are stated below.

Parish Life Representatives and Committees

The parish Respect Life representative and the Respect Life Committee are the links between the Office of Family Life/Respect Life and the parish. The parish representatives work with their pastor to find creative, inventive and effective ways to proclaim the Gospel of Life to their parish community. The representatives receive the monthly Diocesan mailings and legislative “Action Alerts” on important bills working their way through state and national legislatures. Local phone trees and e-mail contacts can then be effectively activated. Some representatives maintain a Respect Life bulletin board in the gathering space of their church on which they post the annual Respect Life posters and other materials they receive from the Pro-Life Secretariat of the US Bishops’ Office and material from the Diocese of Trenton. The Respect Life representatives plan and initiate local parish prayer and worship liturgies to foster respect for life and hold information nights on important Respect Life Issues.

Committee members will contribute to the extent that their time and talents permit.  The committee at Saint Georges has an unlimited membership. All are invited to participate in various activities throughout the year.
